COCO24 - HMI (VAS) for Cab Radio TRS-G2 (FRMCS / GSM-R)

FRMCS introduces a fundamental change to the onboard communication architecture. Unlike GSM-R, where communication and application functions are combined within a single vehicle unit, the FRMCS architecture separates these functions into dedicated, interoperable components.

As the Voice Application Subsystem (VAS), the COCO24 performs essential onboard functions including audio routing, call management, and TCMS connectivity directly within the HMI. Together with the FRMCS Gateway and FRMCS Radio, it forms a modular, Ethernet-based architecture with standardized interfaces, enabling maximum interoperability and long-term flexibility. ErvoCom has implemented the FRMCS architecture consistently from the ground up. All relevant FRMCS interfaces are already integrated into the COCO24, allowing the CCU24 GSM-R Gateway to be removed easily once migration to FRMCS is complete, without requiring any modifications to the HMI or vehicle interfaces. This significantly simplifies migration while protecting existing investments. The COCO24 combines innovative technology with exceptional reliability and low lifecycle costs. A high-resolution optically bonded touchscreen, hardened glass front, vandal-resistant construction, and recessed emergency call button ensure safe and intuitive operation even in demanding railway environments. Comprehensive onboard interfaces, including TCMS, UIC-PA, GPIO, and other vehicle systems, enable fast and straightforward integration into both new and existing rolling stock. Advanced digital audio processing continuously suppresses background noise and optimizes speech clarity, ensuring excellent voice intelligibility even in high-noise operating environments. Integrated microphones enable future hands-free operation and voice recording, while support for handsets, gooseneck microphones and external loudspeakers ensures maximum flexibility.
